You are watching: 1994 ford ranger 2.3 timing belt replacement

Hey All,The time belt on mine 97 Ranger 2.3 (w/air cond.) broke and also I have actually the fan, shroud & water pump sheave off. I realize the crank pulley needs to come off..but,is over there a method to protect against removing the PS/AC clip to obtain the timing cover off? I already snapped one A/C compressor bolt turn off (no biggy,no a/c anyway,accum/dryer is dead). Also , if the parentheses does have to come off and also I snap the various other 3 bolts...can I replace the a/c compressor with an "idler" type bracket in location as if the van didn"t have actually a/c ?Any assist would be appreciated....Thanks
The bracket has to come off. That"s the simple part. Nobody of those bolts have to snapTiming belt replacement: (3 parts)
7/8 inch or 22mm both workTo eliminate the pulley itself, I had actually to rental a 3 jaw puller and also rig something.
